We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Manager to join our small but dedicated Finance team to run the day-to-day activities of the finance function. The ideal person will be keen yet collaborative and have a can-do attitude, as the role will involve aspects of both being hands-on with the day-to-day financial operations as well as providing the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Team with reports and insightful information on long- and short-term business decisions. Experience in a similar role, including good familiarity with Xero accounting software is essential. Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, grant claims and other transactions.

  • Oversee, manage and develop financial department employees, including financial assistants and accountants.

  • Contract outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary.

  • Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.

  • Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company.

  • Research and analyse financial reports and market trends.

  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.

  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports.

  • Work with the CFO to present financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings.

  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.

  • Work with the CFO to establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.

  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

  • Ad hoc projects and general business support.


  • A degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.

  • Several years of experience in a finance role.

  • Good familiarity with Xero.

  • Self-motivated and highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

  • Superior Mathematical skills.

  • Leadership skills with employee management experience.

  • A deep understanding of business principles and practices.

  • An understanding of data privacy standards.

  • An ability to effectively manage tasks, report progress, plan time and work to deadlines.

  • The ability to research and analyse, utilising problem solving and critical thinking skills as required.

  • Adaptable and happy to take on new challenges

  • Can do attitude and willing to lend a hand with other teams when required.

  • Experienced at using Microsoft Office package, able to use formulas in Excel.
