Q-Bot and World Environment Day 2021

We all cherish our planet, and today we celebrate World Environment Day. Established for the first time in 1972 by the United Nations, World Environment Day raises awareness about the importance of nature and greenery in preserving and enhancing the environment – where we live, work and age.

For 50 years World Environment Day has offered a global platform for inspiring positive change. It pushes for individuals to think about the way they consume; for businesses to develop greener models; for farmers and manufacturers to produce more sustainably; for governments to invest in repairing the environment; for educators to inspire students to take action; and for youth to build a greener future.

On this day, governments, businesses like Q-Bot and everyone else focus their efforts on a particular environmental issue to generate awareness. This year, the theme is ecosystem restoration. This means preventing, halting and reversing our damage from exploiting nature to healing it.

Efforts will address the repair of billions of hectares of land by growing trees, greening our cities, rewilding our gardens and cleaning up rubbish alongside rivers and coasts.

Urban areas occupy less than 1% of the earth’s land surface but house more than half of its people. Greening our cities is vital to reduce our carbon footprints and achieve our carbon targets. This involves making transportation sustainable, converting local power grids to renewable energy, and finally decarbonising our homes and buildings.

Q-Bot develops smart tools, using robotics and AI, to construct, maintain and upgrade buildings. Ecosystems support all life on Earth, including ours. The healthier our ecosystems are, the healthier the planet and subsequently us are.
