Q-Bot’s underfloor insulation provides a moisture-resistant barrier that reduces heat loss through the floor, protects against damp and makes park homes more comfortable.
Our process ensures our work consistently meets the highest industry standards.
Step-by-Step Oveview
1. Reassessing Moisture Levels
Before the installation begins, our installers reassess moisture levels within the joists to ensure the moisture content is below 20%.
2. Upgrading Subfloor Ventilation
If necessary, the subfloor ventilation is upgraded to improve airflow. Adequate ventilation is essential for maintaining a healthy environment beneath the park home.
3. Removing Existing Insulation
Any old or damaged insulation is removed and disposed of. This step ensures that the new spray foam adheres correctly and provides a continuous, airtight barrier.
4. Taking Pre-Installation Records
Our installers create a detailed pre-installation record using photos or video footage from beneath the floor. This documentation provides a baseline for comparison, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project.
5. Preparing Services and Pipework
Exposed pipework is improved with additional lagging to enhance thermal efficiency, while electrical cables located within the spray area are protected with corrugated PVC lagging.
6. Installing Closed-Cell Spray Foam
The homeowner leaves the property for a few hours, and enjoy a small surprise offered by Q-Bot, while the installation is carried out from outside the property. The core of the project is the application of closed-cell spray foam. The foam is applied in between the joists and expands to fill any gap, creating an airtight barrier and providing additional structural strength, radon protection, and moisture resistance.
7. Verifying the Installation Quality
Once the foam has cured, our installers perform a thorough post-installation assessment to verify the quality and compliance of their work. Then, our quality assurance team performs the final verifications.
Homeowners can now enjoy a warmer, more comfortable and well-protected home with lower energy costs.
