Q-Bot has been shortlisted in the “Sustainability Project of the Year” category for the prestigious UK Housing Awards 2020.
The winners will be announced during the ceremony on Thursday 7th June at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.
As part of a drive to improve energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty, Q-Bot is working with social housing providers to install underfloor insulation across the UK using a robotic device. Q-Bot has developed a robot, which can fit into the void beneath a suspended floor, first to carry out a survey and then to spray insulation onto the underside of the floor, keeping heat in the property and draughts out. This cuts energy use and CO2 emissions, saving households money while making their homes more comfortable to live in.
Q-Bot has a strong social mission to ensure that people have a cost-effective and non-disruptive way to make their homes warm, comfortable and energy-efficient. Today the focus is on assisting housing providers in meeting their environmental target by improving the fabric of buildings. With Q-Bot’s unique robotic underfloor insulation, we are able to directly address the over 8million homes that would benefit from this solution. Q-Bot has inspected or insulated more than 2,000 homes across the UK, having a significant impact on fuel poverty while reducing our carbon footprint.
